I think id prefer just watching on my tv. There are way too many commercials. I understand they are needed, but the same ones over and over and over are annoying. Also the commercials freeze a second in, stay frozen, then goes to black screen for another minute, only for the same thing to happen again. If I want to watch commercials I can just watch on cable. Or i can wait an extra day and just wait for it to uploaded to YouTube and watch for free with zero commercials.

Watching shows on this app is borderline unbearable. I understand the need for advertising and wouldn't have a problem with it if it was similar to the way you'd get ads on TV. But with this app there are times when you'll watch the same ad 4-5 times in a row, watch a string of ads then 10 seconds of show and right back into the ads. Dont waste your time with this app!

Has all of my favorite shows but unfortunately about a month or 2 ago, this app has been nothing but issues. I have to constantly uninstall and reinstall to get it to add episodes I know should be there. I also have to do this for my fire stick because it will randomly exit in the middle of a show, then when you go back in, the show wont work until you do delete reinstall it. When it kicks you out, it won't remember where you were sometimes, so hopefully you do or it's nothing but ads. Fix it!!

Horrible app. Way too many ads when logging in with my cable account. The same ad plays over and over. The worst part is most of the time it doesn't save where I am in a show, so when I go back on the show I have to sit through a bunch of ads while I try to find where I had left off. It is honestly the worst viewing experience of any TV/video viewing apps!

The video player doesn't actually have a full-screen option, it just keeps the android phone navigation menu on the screen the entire time on the right hand side, with no way to remove it. Netflix, Amazon, HBO, none of them do this. I'd dump Netflix just to be able to watch pickers, pawn stars, and ice road truckers, so please just fix your app, hire some decent developers, and offer a subscription already. You guys are behind on the streaming game.

Marginal... It seems so user-UNfriendly. There's nowhere to save favorite shows. 9 times out of 10, it won't take me to my last watched episode. I have to go scrolling through ALL the shows to find the right one, then scroll through ALL the seasons looking for my latest episode. It's frustrating. That said, I do love the variety of shows on the History Channel. I'll just bide my time til the app catches up to others like Prime or VUDU.

3.5, really. Plenty of shows but I have no cable access, so I can't watch most of them. Reception is poor where I live, so if you don't pay for cable, no TV. I miss analog becuz digital sucks in its own special way. I refuse to pay for what was once free. Rot in hell, Bush. . . . On my phone, videos are clear, usually play or mark where I left off, often allows me to jump ahead or go back without my having to rewatch all of the repetitive ads. Certain ads freeze or don't play to the end. 🙂

Absolute garbage. Seriously they make you watch so many ads. They place the same ads sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row. But that's not even the worst part of this garbage app. They prompt you to create an account so you can save your place and watch shows across different devices. Only it rarely saves your spot. So you have to fast forward to find your place, only you can't fast forward past the breaks for ads. So when you try to find your spot you have to watch all the ads again. Absolute b.s.

Just watched the back to back Taco Bell ads 6 times in a row! Are you friggin' kidding me with this?? If it's not that, then it's the back to back Taco Bell ads followed by another 8-10 ads mixed in. The car ads that freeze causing me to try and "X" out of it, which then puts me on their website, in which I have no interest, or starts the ads all over again. Please, don't tell me I should pay for History Vault because that's not happening. Ads are one thing. This is ridiculous.

Horrible. Ads. Ads and more ads. Buy show instead. I installed this to watch The Selection from a few years back on the channel. After being assaulted for five full minutes before the show even started (I was resuming from a few days prior), I decided enough was enough when they started repeating ads. I went to Amazon and bought the show instead. No more ads, no more agenda to push. I will now be deleting app. You get what you pay for, and with this. It is tons of ads, repeated, again...

Love the shows and the app is easy to use, however, the commercials are awful. They load slow, in between commercials there is huge pauses, and to periodically it shuts down during them or right when the show is about to come back on. It's super frustrating and to be honest I don't look for other shows because of this.

The History app is terrible for streaming. I wish they'd dump their apps and put everything on Netflix or Hulu. Nonetheless we're left with a subpar and frustrating viewing experience of spectacular content. The problem with streaming on this app includes never remembering where you were in the show. Constant "something went wrong" crashes that are followed by having to re-watch all the commercials you've already watched. Having to remember what season and episode you are on because the "Keep Watching" section when you first open the app is incorrect. If heaven forbid you need to answer a text message and get out of the History app for 30 seconds, when you're ready to get back to your show, you'll usually need to completely reboot the app, which of course includes watching all the commercials again. If American Pickers wasn't so good, I'd bail out of this app. There are so many other shows I want to watch, but it's so dang frustrating to stream on this app. Lastly, all of the problems with this app are revolved around having to stop the episode and stream commercials. I understand the need for commercials so History can pay the bills. I also appreciate that History has tried to make it easier by offering Interactive 30 Sec, 3:00 Minute, or a Survey. However, the survey never works so you're stuck with 3:00 mins of commercials. The interactive is easily the best option, but it often crashes the show, which as mentioned before, equals re-watching the whole episode of commercials. I would sit down and watch 3:00-5:00 minutes of interactive commercials at the beginning of the episode if it didn't stop for the rest of the show. I don't mind the commercials, but having them play throughout the episode is what eventually sends me back to Netflix or Hulu, which is too bad. Why not let us get all the commercials out of the way at the beginning, make them interactive so we are required to view, and let me watch the show uninterrupted for the rest of the show. I'd even consider watching an hour of commercials once per week to enjoy a whole week of uninterrupted streaming. History, A&E, etc has amazing content. I love many of their shows, but it's not worth streaming with all the constant problems. I hope they find a way to make the app better so I can enjoy more of their content.

EXTREMELY buggy and not worth the hassle. Usually you can watch about 3 minutes of a show before you receive an error message saying "something went wrong" and the app redirecting you to the home screen. Once you try replaying your show from the recent viewing point, be prepared for a few minutes of ads. Rinse and repeat. Additionally, casting does not work because the ads freeze your app and your TV. I've un-installed & re-installed but the same bugs keep appearing. Not worth your time

Used to work fine. Now, it CONSTANTLY buffers and spins. I can stream with any other app just fine. History can't make it 45 seconds (when it actually opens) before the red wheel of purgatory shows up. And the inconsistencies when it comes to ad breaks. Jeez... Aside from the functionality of the app, the content is good. Just a shame I can't watch what I want when and how I want

It would be nice if I was able to pause during a commercial. Nobody pays attention to the commercials anyway so it's not like I'm going to miss anything. If I fall asleep during the show I have to navigate your app back to the search menu to find the show again or it will only play from where I left off. Kind of a garbage app but I love the History channel so much. Also, please get rid of these garbage interactive ads,it doesn't add anything to my experience and just makes me look for the remote

Crashes constantly. WAY too many ads and the same ones at that. Watch and ad then it reloads so you have to watch the ad again and still doesn't work. So sick of seeing that red loading circle over and over. Can't pick up where you left off on a show. Doesn't jump to next episode. So many shows I want to watch but honestly not worth having to deal with all the bugs in the app.

The streaming itself usually works fine, but the app doesn't keep track of the content you are watching anymore, so you have to search for your episodes. More frustratingly, if you have to stop watching or switch to another app, the HISTORY app often loses track of where you left off in the episode, and you'll have to start the episode over and rewatch the ads. This is definitely one of most poorly designed apps I've used . It's obvious that customer satisfaction is not a HISTORY priority.

App has a lot of glitches, jumps forward in the show, miss parts of show, interactive ads do not work at all, usually freezes up and I have to stop the show and go back to the home screen and restart the show and end up having to watch the ads anyways, ends up taking loner than just watching the same ad 4 or 5 times in a row. The app is very frustrating, I love the History Channel but you need to get your app together, please. 🙏
