Great app, I believe it has decreased the amount of time I used to spend mindlessly scrolling through apps. Only one problem. Ever since the Android 14 update, the app constantly crashes and I have to either wait for it to "force restart" or I have to manually restart the phone. Any chance this can get looked into? It was never a problem before the recent Android 14 update.

It's buggy after the android 14 update. Freezes and stalls. Please fix. Pixel 6a Edit: Still not fixed. I tried some of the solutions(turning off animation etc) and it didn't help. Frankly I don't buy that it can't be fixed on Minimalist end, I'm sure it's difficult and significant effort but outsourcing a problem to a customer is not a solution. Asking the customers to drum up enough complaints to get the attention of Android dev team isn't a solution. I paid for the app and it's unusable.

This app has helped me so much. I have OCD and it can be a struggle to not engage in research compulsions. This app has allowed me to set up ways of making sure I don't spend too much time on any one app or helps me make sure that I actually want to open an app when I want to. I do wish there were some built in calender or task widgets or features. Otherwise, great.

I love this app so much. I keep it on black black background/white font. It is so soothing to just see everything listed in black and white. It is exactly what I have been looking for in my struggle with phone addiction. It has made a huge difference. Love that it is so customizable with favorites on the home screen that can be placed in whatever order you want. Timers to keep you mindful of what you are doing. It provides everything needed to tranform your phone from a drug to a tool.

It has potential. How this works: you open Facebook and have to decide how long you will spend, just that choice brings awareness. Menu is a simple list of apps to not lure you in. But, you don't know if you are at bottom or top of list. Scroll too far and you open the search accidentally. Your ability to switch between apps is disabled. I wish app times can be smart, like open a YouTube link and set to length of video. Timer question should start less intrusive for quick looks at an app.

Makes me almost forget I have a phone! I love the "take me out of here" option LOL. But seriously, I knew I was spending way too much time on certain apps, but didn't realize how addicting just the homescreen itself was with all the colorful apps. My favorite feature is the option to pause and intentionally breathe before certain apps open (you can choose which one). I routinely check text msgs for no reason. Now I stop and think, and most of the time decide NOPE. NOT NOW. Miracle. Danke!

This app works great. didn't realize the impact of colors and how they can stimulate your brain so you make unconscious actions. minimalist phone emphasizes this point and it work with it very well. I like that you can have literally all the features you need in a phone but just take away all the distractions and things that try to pull you in, again it works surprisingly well. love this app!

I like it. Didn't buy it to use my phone less, I just like having a minimalist UI. And it does basically what I want. Keeps the home screen clear and all the apps on a drawer. This is how I set up the OneUI before downloading this. It was weird swiping left instead of up for the drawer, but I've gotten used to it The price is a bit high. I know development is hard, but $30 seems excessive. I wish you could turn off "Recently Downloaded" apps, maybe I am just blind and that is already a feature.

This is actually pretty great. It does exactly what it says it does. It turns my phone into a tool rather than it turning me into one. I only wish it wasn't subscription based. Unless the developer/publisher could create an entire interface that resembles this launcher. Im talking the notification menu, calls received, a dialer the whole 9 yards. Make every part of the UI minimal, I wouldn't at all mind paying close to $30/yr for such a thing. I really hope they make that happen.. 😁

It is what it claims to be! I use my phone less, and more on the original reason I picked up my phone, instead of getting side tracked! If you are trying to minimize bad habits around pointless screen time and doom scrolling, this launcher is one piece of the puzzle(!), would recommend! Purchased the lifetime license. Happy customer, assuming it's usable well into the future! (it does seem expensive for an app, but when you consider it a way to buy back hours of your time, well worth the $30)

Super helpful so far, about 3 days in! Nothing has been able to pry Action Launcher from my phones for 7+ years, but it's been so refreshing to feel "done" with an app after a few minutes. The home screen has nothing flashy or eye-catching about it, so oftentimes I don't feel motivated to open up another app. Nicely done! 🤌🏻. Even more fonts would be nice; particularly any more cursive ones!

much needed reprieve from chaos. the app is an adjustment, however, has absolutely improved productivity and reduced mindless scrolling. it has helped to "let go" without completely disconnecting. if I have to push an extra button to get to an app I don't really need to be using, I opt to put the phone down. this is helping to curb some bad habits and start some better ones.

Overall, I like the concept and application. I just get a bit annoyed that the Google search screen comes up sometimes when swiping right to see the list of apps - if I wanted to search something on Google I'd pick it from the list. Also, I'm not interested in listing my favorite apps or other functions but can't get rid of the caption box that asks me to do so.I like it though and think if they just get rid of those unnecessary things then it would lead to fewer mistakes when choosing things

IT WORKS GUYS! I've tried a few different apps to try and reduce my phone/internet use and this one is the best. Each of the features is intentional, like the lack of icons, searching for an app instead of scrolling through a list, and the timer. I also like that apps can be renamed. One complaint is that the timer sometimes doesn't work perfectly: when the time runs out, I have to click on a new time option really quickly otherwise the dialog disappears. I would like more time to decide.

The minimalist app is s great app except for one thing-sometimes it wont let you show an app in your list. I like the apps in a list rather than icons. Its been stable and consistant. Been using it for about a year on an Android phone. The optional questions for this review should allow you to say you can do those things from your particular app or by opening Chrome. I agree with Alex a calender widget and weather widget would be nice to have. Something in keeping with thee minimalist format.

A very good tool for spending less time on your phone. Something I would like to see added would be, for example once my 10 or 15 minutes is up that there is a setting to add mandatory time in between selecting to either add more time or to get off the app like adding a selector for 5-60 sec in the settings. So that you don't just click another 15 or ten minutes. Right away and get back to scrolling. Will change to 5 star if this is added.

Ridiculously efficient, I love the simple interface (mine is in a nice gray color) and just how simple it makes my phone. It really has changed my perspective about my use, and helps me visualize my phone as a tool, not a way to spend my time. App reminders are incredibly annoying, thus doing their job in making me close the app rather than wait for the timer to run out !! I LOVE this app, exactly what I needed to get my use down. Thank you so much !!!!

This changed my relationship with my phone. After 4 months I often find myself forgetting where I set my phone. My phone is a communications device again instead of a pacifier. There are two things I'd love to see: 1. Ability to backup created folders / custom names for apps. I find it very helpful to group things but have to set up again when upgrading my device. 2. Ability to custom order items in the app list. This is related to #1. I like having a personal 'dev' group of apps first.
