Terrible. Have to keep two apps on the phone, and between the both of them, you still can't print something. What a joke. No matter how I try to reconnect: through the silly useless apps, my phone's WI-FI Direct settings, the printer itself, etc... (which I have to do literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I NEED TO PRINT SOMETHING, and I can put the phone physically up against it)... Nothing. it's recently started telling me it's SUCCESSFULLY CONNECTED! ...Still doesn't print anything. Great. Job.

HP, what happened to you? Your products used to be so reliable; Now, I'm lucky if they work at all. The printer I bought has been nothing but headaches. Once in a blue moon, the printer will work as intended and print documents without fuss. Most of the time, it just flat out doesn't work. I've ended up going over the limit on my Instant Ink service because of having to reprint jobs that the printer botched, and it also looks like you removed the option for free Instant Ink service, so you're basically running a scam with extra steps. The printer shows as "Offline" when I know it is online. The printer RARELY follows print instructions for documents, either flipping them over the wrong edge or with size/scale issues. Most of the print jobs I send to the printer don't come through at all. The mobile app has never worked for me, and the remote print-by-email feature takes HOURS to send a job through to the printer. Every time I run into one of these problems, I have to uninstall all of the required apps/utilities, have my computer forget the printer, and go through the pain-in-the-ass setup process again. Also, why have two separate apps for the print service and for printer management? Makes no sense. Support has been unhelpful at best, with the only solution to most issues being to uninstall, reinstall, and pray to god it works this time. All the fancy extra features would be nice if they worked, but honestly I'd be happy with a printer that just worked consistently and printed documents without hassle.

I find it very useful. Prints B&W better than a photo. However, HP Smart now hangs after using the Smart tasks feature. I have to force it it now and can no longer save the camera scan. Update: App often hangs when I use the shortcut feature. Now with the latest update it is extremely slow and hangs just getting the photo. When it works I think it is fabulous. However, it no longer works at all. Even after a uninstall/install, clear cache routine.

Too many issues. When you need to print on demand, the app will crash. I always seem to get a message that the printer isn't available, but when I check the printer, the wifi light is on and a printout shows it's connected and ready. I thought the ease of printing wirelessly would be great. Now, I'm so frustrated that I'm second guessing my purchase and feeling like I should've stuck with a wired printer.

Worked well, and was only slightly confusing to get working. I like that I can see the estimated ink levels in the printer, and that it's easy to operate the printer using the app. I like being able to personalize which tiles are shown, but I wish I could choose the order they appear as well. Didn't appreciate having to create an account, because it feels unnecessary and annoying.

1. Brackets "[]" are not invalid characters. So you could just make Save file naming easier by allowing the OS save dialogue to do the whole naming process, since it comes up when selecting the folder anyway. 2. I don't care if you know what I'm doing with this device. I don't think I should have to sing into the internet to use a utility. And I'm not super comfortable with sending files through your system for fax and remote printing

I've had the issue of having to spend a lot of time resetting, connecting and re-connecting to the printer as I see many others have. I bought the printer because I want to be able to print when I want to, which is 0 to maybe 30 pages/month. Most months zero. I'm not sure if it's the app or the printer. I would think HP would see so many people have had issues and update the driver or software to fix the bugs. On a positive note, I called and spoke with someone on the cloud support team who walked me through some steps to fix my connectivity issues and it worked for 3 or 4 months.

Let's just put some buttons back on the printer itself. utterly ridiculous I need to sign into an account to copy or scan a couple simple items. Yes it's nice to be able to do it from my phone however not as nice as just using buttons on the printer itself. The ability to save to a certain file in my Dropbox is also nice buttes have the app.be an option to use of someone wants to. I'll give it 2 stars.

While I like this app for its ability to easily print out, say, an email, word doc, or pdf right from my phone (it IS SUPER reliable for documents and pdfs!); it is SERIOUSLY lacking in the photo printout department. This app offers a "document" or a "photo" option. The "document" option I really have no complaints for: you can choose from within the app the color, quality, quantity, and size of the page you want to print. You can also elect double-sided printing. Under the "photo" option, though, you can't do much. Options are pretty much limited to quality, quantity, "borderless print," and "fit to page"/"shrink to fit." There is no option in the app to print multiple copies/pages per sheet of paper. Nor can you dictate the actual dimensions of the image you wish to print. You will get a letter-sized image. Or several. Period. Those are all of your choices. I'd really like to see them add options for dimensions of photos, as my HP printer does an excellent job of printing photos (with the assistance of another app like Picasa [outdated, I know] that dictates photo print-size and copies per sheet thereof). However, without an extraneous app exporting ready-made, multiple per-sheet photos, you will not be able to execute that from within this mobile app.

I have never in my life had a more infuriating situation. The printer won't print from my phone unless I have two separate apps, one of which simply redirects me to the other. Awesome. It connects to the printer maybe 1 out of every dozen times I try. When I try to print directly through the app, it says I can't without an account THAT IT KEEPS LOGGING ME OUT OF, even in the middle of getting a print set up! Thankfully I'll be getting rid of it soon. Will NEVER use an HP product ever again.

The app works when it wants to. I have always used the mobile version until today. The app would not load on my phone so I had to uninstall and then reinstall. After that I finally got it working (so I thought). I have a business that requires me to upload up to 200 documents at a time and the documents are mixed sizes (letter and legal). Well as I'm going through the scans, I noticed that the legal sized documents were cut off at the bottom. Then the computer version kept crashing.

Unable to send more than one page at a time. If you are mid creating of your information and hit refresh or back in error, you have to start all over. You can't send multiple faxes to the same person at the same time to get all the pages to them, you have to save as a draft and wait for the first two faxes to go through before sending more pages to them. Horrible experience. EDIT:6/25/22 Still no correction. 1page at a time. Takes forever to load. Horrible service.

I've had this app installed & have used it before. Now it won't connect & states features unavailable. Which features are unavailable? This is so frustrating. There are no buttons on the printer. It's ALL wireless. It shouldn't be this difficult to connect to a printer. Not sure what the problem is.... But definitely needs to be looked into and corrected. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Slow. Closes on its own from time to time. I have to sign in almost every time I use it. Always have to open the android plug-in first before I open the app otherwise the app fails. Can't adjust scan settings. I can make a perfectly good photocopy, so obviously the printer/scanner itself works fine but when I scan it's way too bright and details get washed out. This means the scan settings need to be adjusted which for some reason I can't do with the app. Overall very poor.

When I first bought this printer, I was amazed at how quickly and easily it connected and worked. Since the first time, the app will not connect the printer with WiFi network. It won't even finish trying the process. It closes the app on me every time I try to connect my printer, which renders the app and my printer useless. This has happened over multiple WiFi networks and over several months. I have not been happy about buying a printer that won't connect to the app and actually print.

I don't think I've ever had a more frustrating experience than with your products. Your printers, your services, and now, your app. This has genuinely induced rage on a scale language does not have the ability to convey. Your interface is the antithesis of user friendly, offers no realistic troubleshooting support, other than just keep restarting and hope for something different, and in top of that, there is no way to talk to a real person for help, aside from the chat function. Never again.

Don't ever try to cue anything to print because it seems to never work. 🤷 Had an easy time using the HP Smart App. If you encounter any problems then they can usually be resolved by turning the printer off and shutting the app down; then restarting them again separately. Try to move on and add multiple print projects while it's printing and it won't be capable of moving on at some point. Save yourself the disappoint and print your jobs one at a time, however many copies doesn't seem to matter.

There's no way to start a new scan without backing all the way out to the app home screen, and it takes ~30sec to open the scanning tile. EVERY. TIME. There used to be an option to start a new scan within the scanning tile. This app seems to keep losing features, and it's really frustrating. I rely on this app heavily for scanning sheet music, and I'm to the point where I'm looking at different hardware so I don't have to deal with this neglected pile of garbage app.
