I enjoy the layout and idea of the app. Media bias is a very serious issue and being able to compare different versions of the same story is a great tool. I guess there used to be a comments section that was removed. I think a comments section would be a great feature. Overall still one of the best news apps out there for layout and sources.

Possibly the best news aggregator already, but still room for improvement. A) feedback button in the app. It shouldn't be done in a review. Or that's the goal, which boosts the ranking in the app store? B) have the AI prevent the same story from showing up multiple times in the same scroll/session. Last I opened the app the unfortunate execution of the britt-iranian man showed up 3x. C) excluding certain topics entirely: Don't show me anything related to sports, anywhere. Max chars reached..

I really love this app for keeping up with multiple news outlets from around the world, but I wish it had support for multiple languages. For example, I speak both English and Spanish. There should be an option to set a default language "except for stories in..." or a list of languages to select from

I absolutely love this idea and I really wanted to love this app, but, it's got a long way to go to live up to its potential. The selection of stories and bias ratings of news outlets are currently skewed. I'm hoping as they grow, they will engage a wider range of viewpoints to gather and highlight stories and that they will make adjustments to their default site bias ratings.

Great news service that helps prevent falling into an echo chamber. When I was forced to cancel my premium subscription due to external factors, the team sent me a non-automated email and made it clear that they valued me as a user. This is made by real people who value accurate news and is worth checking out. This is easily the best news service in the store and I would recommend both the free, and premium versions to anyone.

EDIT: Raising rating to 4 stars as some key bugs were fixed. Amazing idea. App is very buggy (and could use a nicer UI). When I open an article and swipe L or R to view the sources I get a popup telling me to purchase an upgrade. When I cancel it most actions on the screen are locked and those that function just open the source I am on. Have heard their Instagram is better and will try there.

Seems decent enough. Quick improvements i could think of is 1. being able to copy the link for the news article. (Currently it only seems like you can only copy the link to the ground summary) 2.Also I'm not sure or not but it seems like only recent articles will be shown. Meaning this app may only be useful for recent news. (I just got it so still playing around with it but I've noticed it). This related back to 1. Because i like to store links to articles to view later.

Fantastic idea for a news app, and the execution is done pretty well. After switching over from the iOS app I did notice a few features missing and would love to see the blindspot feature added. The app also keeps crashing on me occasionally when I click on the bais rating bar to see all the titles given to a particular article. Other than that just continue to polish the app and improve it's algorithm and I will stay a loyal user.

Watched a YouTube ad and then went through the sign-up process before anything was mentioned about a paid subscription to unlock all the features. It's in the fine print, but they definitely try to trick people into downloading the app before discovering it. If they were honest up front and offered a free trial, I may have subscribed. It's actually a decent app. However, tricking people just like the media companies they are exposing is a dirty trick. For that reason alone, it deserves 0 stars.

I love the concept, but the app has a long way to go. The UI is ugly and cluttered and not at all customizable. Certain news sources I just *never* want to see can't be filtered out entirely. "Less like this" doesn't work because the tags are often wrong. Adding interests is also limited - there's no search or manual entry; you just have to scroll through subjects sorted by trending and popularity. And worst of all: you have to read the news on the individual outlets' ad- and popup-filled sites.

I've been enjoying this app, but I was actually pretty shocked when I opened it today after it apparently auto-updated. It looks completely different, and not in a good way. The new design is ugly and flat, and looks very unpolished. Everything seems more spread out and requires more navigating to get to the articles and the bias distribution. I don't see anything here that is an improvement in any way... Just a big, inexplicable step backward. I don't think I'll be using it anymore.

Disappointed I renewed my yearly subscription. I can't read any of the articles because they don't scale to my S22 Ultra phone screen. There is no setting or zoom feature to fix this. Ground team, please fix it! Update: it mostly seems the affect "The Hill" which I read a lot through Ground since it's one of the best "Center" sources of news. Edit: It seems most of these issues are fixed. I really appreciate having this unique news aggregator app!

I uninstalled this when it required me to log in before showing me any news. An app to collect info for advertisers. Update: I reinstalled after reading about the update and now have access to a flood of news from a global perspective. This app has a bit of a learning curve because it packs so much information onto a small screen that I kept finding more layers. The bias ratings for sources are useful when reading unfamiliar publications. Good on large phones, excellent on tablets.

Revolutionary service with excellent customer support. I had a minor account issue, and it was fixed immediately and cheerfully. More importantly, the service itself has given me direct experience of media bias on both sides of the spectrum. This is a useful tool for those who want to understand others, and not just shout at them. The highlight is the newsletter, which looks at the blind spots of both left and right leaning media. This app is for anyone wanting to become more media literate.

I wish the app developers good luck, but -- sadly -- I am uninstalling because the app's share links are to the app's own article hub rather than the actual site you are attempting to share. That makes it impossible to use the text-to-speech feature in Android that I rely on. For those who don't care about sharing, you may find this to be an excellent app.

In general a good idea and decent execution too. I do have a few gripes with it: The app regularly bugs be to enable notifications. No thanks should mean "don't bug me ever again". It's very difficult to get relevant news. Telling the app to show less of certain news doesn't seem to make any difference. The "focus" tab is practically just Ukraine news and nothing else. Local news - isn't. Some is local, much isn't local at all.

I bought a year of the app because I like the potential, but there's a few critical issues First, for stories with a small thumbnail, the font size of the headline is huge causing the headline to be truncated. This often makes it difficult to get a feel for what the story is about. I love that I can generate my own feed of stories but I wish it had a bit more variety. I follow about 30 topics and 90 percent of my stories are about coronavirus (which is just one topic)

Does not work well with dark mode. It used to, but one of the more recent updates must have broken it. I used to pay for premium, but don't anymore. I think, other than a few minor annoyances removed, premium doesn't get you much. You still have pay walls from individual sources blocking access. The most useful thing is that you can see who has covered the topic, and then it's often better to open the source of your choice in your browser, because reading in the app can have issues.
