Long time user and now a frustrated user due to so many pop up ads I can't simply read an article. Constantly battling pop ups that covers a good portion of the screen and even after closing the ad another one pops up. And trying to close the pop up it will go to the ads site because you didn't quite press the x precisely.

I like the idea of this app, but it's hard to use given its frustrating glitchiness. Articles won't load when clicked, notifications for social interactions no longer exist and their tactic of manipulating touch sensitivity on ads is obnoxious. Update: I'm done with Flipboard. After being faced with the full screen Amazon ad that's nearly unscrollable(yes, the flip works quite well on the articles) without engaging the link, I'm deleting Flipboard. Also, why is the same ad in Spanish?

It used to be really good, but has changed since first downloaded for the worse. Seems now it's all reposted stories, even year+ old articles, and stories of tiktok "stars" etc. Even when you select to block the individual/source they still are all over the place.

4 months later and it's even worse. Unusable. Crashes constantly Used to love it. Now either reloads while I'm reading an article or crashes. Crashes constantly. Nearly unusable. From these reviews it seems the developers have been aware for quite awhile. They either don't care or are incapable of fixing the problems

In general, I find the app Ok except for one very annoying thing. More and more of the articles are infested with pop-up ads and hyperlinks. That when clicked on, usually unintentionally, and you revert back to what you are reading you are taken back to the beginning of the article. This shows an arrogant disregard for the person using/reading the article. Bookmarking the departure point and the return call to said departure point would go a long way to making this app user friendly.

My daily companion for a mix of hard news, sports and distraction. The applicationally freezes but that might be more attributable to my ancient Pixel 2 than to the app. There's a convenient "force stop" and "clear cache" option that pretty much solves the problem each time.

When flipping through the "for you" section, its absolutely jam packed and pre-loaded full of topics that have ZERO relevance to the interests that you've picked out. For example, I mainly like science/tech news, was just flipping and came across an article about...floods? In India? Edit to respond to dev: yes you can tune out news sources and topics, but for every relevant article, there are 5-6 articles that need to be "tuned out" and your time on the app is mostly spent blocking topics.

The ads are too unbearable. It's like 3/5 of every "article" you see and in between flips you have a fullscreen ad. The UI concept is great but that's where it ends. It seems like the app has been around so long now that it's just being squeezed for every penny to up profits year after year. My recommendation is you will be better off finding an alternative news app. If they were to just make it a purchase of around $2.99 I'd buy it to rid myself of ads and subscription based news if available.

It used to work but now it has me in an endless loop of taking me to the same article and not letting me view anything else if I try to engage with it. It is read this or exit. The only reason I have not given up on it is because of the pop ups relevant news that show up in my notifications. But if I ever try to open it it will always take me to the same article it has taken me for years. I have tried updates, Uninstalling, and reinstalling but nothing changes.

Great concept, excellant App, BUT some of the advertising banners have so much graphical content, Flipboard stalls. I know its the era of hig speed connection, but Flipboard should lower the file size of banners. ALSO.... If you have been flipping through stories for 15 or 30 minutes, and accidently hit the back button twice instead of once (to go back on story). .... You go back to the beginning, with no way to find where you left off, other than flipping through everything again! (Andrd Galx7)

This is basically CNN in app form. Wouldn't recommend it at all. Especially if you are looking for a neutral news source. It's utter garbage articles and all clickbaited inaccurate headlines. I honestly can't believe that it has good ratings at all. Though, a lot of them look like bot ratings. Save yourself the headache of swiping away the notifications from this app and just don't install it.

This was my favorite app, and the best one for news. Period. But the devs apprantely don't understand "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." The last update a month or so ago ruined it. I can no longer search for articles, even those I've saved in magazines. Saving an article now takes four clicks and a menu, instead of one quick click like before. The app refreshes in the middle of reading something. Constant crashes now. Including locking up my whole phone, necessitating a restart. Shame.

I've enjoyed Flipboard over the years but now it crashes in the middle of random stories and I have to close it, poke a bunch of buttons, reopen the app, find the story I'm trying to read and hope that it will actually load this time. If it doesn't I have to start the process again. Should have to work that hard. Saddly, uninstalled it until after it works again.

I used this app for about a year. At first, it had great news and articles. Gradually, more and more advertising has crept in, and now there's so much advertising, I can't find the news or articles anymore. A lot of the advertising is "disguised" as articles. I'm not sure what happened here Flipboard. It's disappointing. I had to remove the app, and i will try a different news app now.

There must be something better. Ads frequently block content. Almost every time I read a story I get knocked back to the preceding page At Least once. This is most annoying when I have followed a link in one article to a second or third story. Then after being kicked back to that first story, sometimes I cannot even find the last article I was reading. Also, even though in two different settings I tell the app Do Not to Autostart Videos, EVERY video autostarts, and Interrupts my audiobook.

This one star is to get someones attention. I have used this app for years and you have still not added the feature to organize the magazines we can create. There is no sort feature. I was even stupid enough to manually move all 60 magazines around only to see them immediately revert to the order they were created in. Just the ability to sort them alphabetically would make a huge difference. Im going to abandon this app. /rant

Won't open articles fully. If you tap an article to read, it will show the first paragraph or two and no more. Unlike photos that can take longer to load, the text just completely stops. This happens when on data connection or on WiFi. If you tap to open the article in a browser, it leads to the full article with no issue, so it's not a connection issue. The app is broken.

I have been with Flipboard since the beginning and I have never seen so many ads overtake the content. Tiny video windows everywhere!!! Try to tap the impossible, tiniest "x" button on the screen and it either closes the ad (very infrequent), sends you to the ad content (frequent) or doesn't work at all (frequent). I am about ready to uninstall this silent tracking everything I do pos software.
